About
Moat Compounder is an independent equity research project. Every company is valued with the same method, published in full, and every figure can be traced back to the official document it comes from.
Where the numbers come from
Financial statements are taken from the documents each company files with the U.S. SEC (10-K, 10-Q, 20-F and earnings releases), through EDGAR's public financial-data API. What that API does not contain —operating metrics, company guidance, qualitative context— is read from the document itself.
Every stock page lists the documents it relies on in its “Source” line. The only figure that does not come from an official document is the market price, which updates daily and is shown with its date.
When a figure is not in any official document, it is not estimated: it is left out or declared missing.
How it stays current
When a company reports results, its page is re-analyzed with the new quarter and the guidance the company itself publishes. Because the price changes every day, the expected return and the verdict are recalculated with every quote.
Independence
Moat Compounder carries no ads or affiliate links and receives no payment from the companies it analyzes. Stock pages are free and complete, verdict included.
The content is educational and informational: it is not investment advice or a personalized recommendation.
Corrections
Errors in a figure or in the reasoning can be reported to the contact address, with the link to the page. Corrections are made on the page itself.
