The essentials
- Revenue growth of 33.5% in the twelve months to June 2026, with company guidance of US$2,864 to US$2,870 million for the full calendar year
- Stock-based compensation equals 20.2% of revenue and 145.7% of reported free cash flow: owner cash flow is still negative
- 120% net dollar retention and current contracted obligations growing 35% year over year
- GAAP operating income of US$-354.4 million in the twelve months to June 2026, against guidance of US$444 million of non-GAAP operating income for 2026
- Balance sheet with cash and liquid investments of US$4,163 million against convertible debt of US$1,293.3 million (2026 notes) plus US$1,977.0 million (2030 notes) as of June 30, 2026; by August 13, 2026 the 2026 notes had fallen to US$1,125 million through conversions, and an additional US$2,500 million maturing 2031 was issued
Intrinsic value — two valuation methods
The value today by multiples ($55) is below the market price ($277). The present-value lens does not apply to this company, so the contrast between methods is unavailable.
Pillars of the analysis
The verdict — today vs 5 years
Today — expensive, no margin of safety: at $277 trades ~405.8% above its value discounted to today (~$55); the expected return does not even reach the risk-free rate (4.5%).
At 5 years — Sobrevalorado: the expected total return is negative — the price already discounts a demanding scenario that, if not met, results in a loss.
The bridge: the return at 5 years falls below the risk-free rate (4.5%) — which is why there is not even a discount to today's value. To require a 15% annual return, it would need to be bought at ~$34.
Thesis
The business
This is a business with high operating quality: a proprietary network, 33.5% growth in the twelve months to June 2026, 120% net retention, contracted obligations growing 35% year over year, and a customer base that grew from 189,791 to 332,466 paying accounts in two years. None of that is in question. What is in question is how much of that growth reaches the owner: stock-based compensation equals 20.2% of revenue and 145.7% of reported free cash flow, so shareholder cash flow is still negative.
The valuation
It is valued by multiples on year-five maintenance free cash flow net of stock-based compensation, because the year-zero figure is negative and normalizing it would mean inventing the result. The base case takes revenue from US$2.5 billion to US$7.2 billion over five years and the margin net of that compensation from 5.0% to 17.5%, with an exit multiple of 26 times, within the 20-to-30-times band of the enterprise software archetype. The resulting value is $68 per share against a price of $277.
The margin of safety
No margin of safety: the price already discounts a demanding scenario. The estimated total return over five years is -24% annually, with -24% in the adverse scenario and -24% in the favorable one: all three scenarios fall below the 4% floor, and the favorable scenario requires growing faster, compressing stock-based compensation to 12% of revenue, and paying the top of the band, all at once. Even buying at 112× on year-five cash flow, the entry point does not become cheap enough.
What to watch
The disconfirming test is stock-based compensation. On May 7, 2026, the company already announced a plan that cuts headcount by approximately 20% to move to an operating model centered on agentic artificial intelligence, with estimated charges of US$140 to US$150 million —of which US$35 to US$40 million are non-cash from the acceleration of stock awards— with execution substantially complete by the end of the third quarter of 2026: it is the concrete action that could produce the compression in stock-based compensation from 20.2% to 13.5% of revenue that the base case assumes, though it also carries a symmetric risk to the growth path if the headcount reduction affects sales or product development. The concrete test is the gap between GAAP and non-GAAP operating income quarter by quarter: guidance for 2026 is US$443 to US$445 million of non-GAAP operating income on revenue of US$2,867 million, while GAAP operating income for the twelve months to June 2026 is US$-354.4 million. That gap is the entire thesis.
